The product is national, the fitter is local

A site for a southern Tasmanian garage door dealer selling and fitting the B&D range. The doors belong to a national brand, so the site sells the measure, the fit and the repair that only a local dealer provides.

The brief

A dealer competes on two fronts. The manufacturer already has the product pages and the brand, and the customer is not buying a door on a website anyway. They are booking somebody to come and measure an opening.

What we built

  1. 01

The phone number and free measure and quote held in the header on every page

  2. 02

Product bands that name the actual range, so a customer who has been told to ask for a Panelift can find it

  3. 03

Colour and design options given a panel of their own, since that is the question a homeowner asks after security

  4. 04

Service and repairs in the top navigation next to products, because a broken door is a separate and urgent visit

Screens

The homepage: a hero for the Panelift Icon with Auto-Lock, then panels for B and D Auto-Lock keyless protection and for colour and design options.
Security first, then colour. That is the order homeowners ask the questions in.
The products page showing the range of garage doors, each photographed fitted to a house with its name beneath.
Doors photographed fitted to houses rather than shot in a warehouse, because that is the decision being made.

Outcomes

  • The call to action is a phone call, which is how this trade actually converts

  • Existing customers with a broken door reach service without going through the sales pages
